Four reasons to take advantage of your Direct Sales Enrollment Special

October 22, 2016 By: Denisecomment

Did your Direct Sales brand offer an enrollment special to become a consultant for the price of a cup of coffee? Your first thought might have been that this isn’t going to benefit your business. Here are four reasons you should jump at the chance during your next Direct Sales enrollment special offer.

Your company did the work for you

Your company created the offer, the infrastructure and the assets. They are now giving you free reign to offer the business to literally anyone with a pulse. You will never have a bigger pool of potential team members than during this type of enrollment opportunity. Before now, you only offered the opportunity to a few people a week, on your time and your schedule. You had no deadline so many of your prospects weren’t moved to action.

The price eliminates almost all objections

Do you have fence sitters? People who have expressed interest but never got off the fence. Perhaps they didn’t have money for a kit or too much on their plate. By giving them this enrollment offer, you can literally clear your fence-sitting list. At the end of the day they either will or won’t join, but the price will no longer be an objection.

Moving contacts to consultants will grow your brand recognition

Are you afraid of losing paying customers? If you are relying on past customers as your only source of income then your business has stalled. How about converting those customers to consultants and taking advantage of the enrollment offer? They are already some of your best Brand Ambassadors and brand recognition is key to growing your overall business.

Focused sponsoring process will clear the decks

When Origami Owl announce the $2 enrollment special, I saw an opportunity to turn sponsoring into a five-day Olympic sport. I grabbed the stack of Customer Contact Cards, hostess rosters and former team member lists. The five day enrollment window and low price would either move them from the fence or give me the green light to bless and release.

What were my results?

I sent out a teaser by email, text and/or Facebook messenger. That opened a door to a conversation, a door to see if Origami Owl might be right for them right now. For some, the kit was the best option for them but we never would have had that conversation if the $2 enrollment special wasn’t offered. And you know what else? Many didn’t respond, some said no and others said they’d prefer to be my retail customer. Do you know what I did get? I got twenty-seven new personally sponsored designers enrolled in my front line, many of whom then sponsored their own new team members bringing my team grand total to 46 new designers. Forty-six new business owners, forty-six holiday paychecks and forty-six lives changed. Many, for the cost of a cup of coffee.

How does Origami Owl do Recognition?

August 8, 2016 By: Denisecomment

Origami Owl Custom Jewelry has several levels of recognition. We have our own lingo and language. Let’s see if I can deconstruct it to layman’s terms.

The first level is simply called Active Designer and he/she maintains a minimum of $99pv (wholesale) in a calendar month. That is about the equivalent of two average locket sales. An active designer received a commission of 20-40% on  our products.

Our second level of recognition is called Storybuilder. A Storybuilder is a designer who actively working her business and have 250pv or more in the calendar month. S/he is either hosting Jewelry Bars or actively working with multiple customers each month to reach this level. S/he receives an additional 10% bonus on all of her sales this month bringing er commission to 30-50%.

Our third level of Recognition is called Owlchiever. Our incentive trips are based on Owlchiever points. A new designer in his/her first three full months as a designer will receive double points. Origami Owl offers an amazing fit each month for hitting Owlchiever. I actually think that this might be the best Owlchiever gift yet.So what is an Owlchiever?

An Owlchiever has 5 points in a given month that can come from a combination of the following:
1) 500pv = 1 point
2) Sponsor a new designer who reaches 250pv = 1 point
3) Sponsor a new designer who hits 500pv after hitting 250pv = 1 (2 points max for reaching 500pv)
4) Mentor a designer to Team Leader – 3 points
5) Promote up to Team Leader (you) – 3 points
***Points are doubled for new designers in their first FULL three months. So if you joined at any time in August, you have September, October and November to earn double points. Earn three points and those are doubled and you will be an Owlchiever. Who will be an Owlchiever in September? I know I will be one!

How to Rejoin or Re-enroll with Origami Owl

August 1, 2016 By: Denisecomment

rejoin origami owl

Have you been wondering how you can rejoin Origami Owl? Whether you left three months or three years ago, you can re-enroll or rejoin the Origami Owl family and continue your journey.

People come and go in direct sales for a variety of reasons. Sometimes life gets in the way whether it’s family, school, job, a move or any other reason, you can rejoin Origami Owl. If it’s been a while, Origami Owl is bigger and better than you remember. I have kept in touch with former teammates through my monthly newsletter and have recently found several former designers inquiring as to the requirements to rejoin.

If you went inactive and would like to rejoin or re-enroll under a different mentor you may do so at least 6 months after your inactive date. If you went inactive in January 2016, you can rejoin in August 2016 and select any Mentor. I strongly suggest that you read the blog post called ‘Choosing your Origami Owl Mentor’. You can rejoin Origami Owl by signing up as a designer on your mentor’s website and selecting a business starter kit. You will get a new designer number, set up your replicated website and begin your new journey.

If you went inactive in the last six months and would like to rejoin or re-enroll under your original Mentor you may do so by contacting Career and Guidance support @cgsupport@origamiowl.com. Include your name and your contact details. You can purchase one of three business starter kits and once your replicated site is reactivated, you can begin begin your new journey.

As a leader I have welcomed past designers back to my team as well as those who were mentored by other designers.  I have a national team of designers who engage and challenge each other. I hold training calls and team meetings via zoom. “Vendor events near me are all booked!”

July 11, 2016 By: Denisecomment

A team member contacted me to tell me that all the vendor events in her area were already booked with a consultant from our brand. We set out to discover where she had looked and how she could solve this dilemma.

Vendor events, also known as craft shows, are held both indoors and outdoors in most months of the year. They can be found listed on Facebook under events or in vendor group listings, through referrals of friends and family, on Fairs and Festivals listing websites and in places like your town newspaper and Craigslist. If you only look in one of these places, you may find that all of the events have a consultant for your brand. If you haven’t explored all of these areas, you now have a to do list!

Origami Owl vendor events show booth street fair

Let’s say you are a new consultant and are looking for opportunities to showcase your brand in the next thirty days. Let’s say you’ve exhausted all the above places to look.  Now what?

When I am told my brand is represented, I always to leave my name and number because things change and people cancel. I’ve been called twice for shows that were full or my brand was represented and the week before the show they welcomed me with open arms.

If there are legitimately no vendor events in your area with openings for your brand, then why not make your own event? (Don’t roll your eyes, stick with me for a hot minute).

Is there a new business in town that might be having a grand opening? Ask them if you can set up a table and help distribute flyers or post on social media to bring in people to their event. This could be a nail or hair salon that’s new in town. Are there boutique clothing stores in your area that might want to have a Ladies Night and partner with local small businesses such as your own?  All you have to do is ask! If you don’t ask the answer will always be no.

Do you have a product that complements another direct sales brand? Do you sell bags and have a friend that sells jewelry? How about a bags and bling party. Do you sell jewelry and have friends that sell clothing?  Reach out to all of your direct sales friends and ask them to brainstorm with you outside of the normal vendor event.

I was recently invited to setup a Jewelry Bar at the home of a Lularoe consultant. While she was busy with her guests, I was introducing other guests to Origami Owl. At the end of the day, I presented her over $100 in Hostess Rewards. She was astonished as she hadn’t even expected anything in return. It was a win-win.

Look outside of the traditional vendor events for a niche that you can fill or partner with others to grow both of your businesses.

Handling J months in Direct Sales

June 12, 2016 By: Denisecomment

Have you heard the rumor that the J months are the worst months in direct sales? I’d like to debunk that rumor for you.

There are always customers, hostesses and potential team members looking for what you have to offer. Most Direct Sellers go into the summer months and close up shop. They don’t actively look for business. That is a huge mistake!

Improve your Social Media Presence:

Work to improve your online presence. Update your Facebook business page, Instagram and Pinterest regularly. This is a good time to invite your customers to follow you.

Housekeeping:

Sort through all the 2016 paperwork and get them sorted into folders for tax time. Check on your product displays, materials and supplies. Order or re-order what you need for the rest of the year.

Happy Mail:

Contact past hostesses and invite them to schedule their fall home parties or demonstrations. Include an offer to get them to confirm a date by August 1 such as a discount or a give away tied to your new fall line. I also invite mine to a VIP Sale in July and start teasers a couple of weeks before.

Giveaways and Force for Good projects:

Do you have retiring product? Why not do a giveaway?  Invite your customers to nominate a deserving person (a mom, a veteran, a teacher) and get them talking! Choose a winner, announce it (leaving out personal info) then photograph your donation and post on your social media channels to show your followers you are a Force for Good!

Look to the Future:

Research and book vendor events, holiday boutiques, expos, markets – whatever public events that fit the demographic you are seeking to attract.  These can be booked several months to a year in advance. If you inquire and are told your brand is already booked, ask to be put on a wait list or standby list if anything changes. I’ve gotten two shows this year by asking to be wait-listed!

Get out and meet people:

While home parties might be more limited in the J months, the opportunities to showcase your business at an event such as a fair or festival are numerous. Locate events through Facebook and friend referrals. Arrive early to network with the vendors. Some of my best leads for events came from staying connected. I also give the other vendors a small Gift Certificate and rack card to shop my booth.

While some of these tasks may not be income producing in the J months, they are laying the groundwork for future success. People do business with those they know, like and trust. Being consistent throughout the year will have a very positive impact on your business. Tend to your garden and watch it grow.
